Ban the slippers
Two weeks ago a breaking news started flashing on all the top Indian news channels. The news was about a prominent leader belonging to a very powerful political party using his slippers on an airline employee. I wondered why news channels are giving too much importance to such a trivial incident. After all politicians have the fundamental right to crush public. What’s wrong if one of them used it. With this thought I got back to my work.
Very soon another strange news followed. Airlines took a ground breaking and extremely outrageous decision. They banned him from flying for attacking an airline employee! This news shocked me to the core.
I am surprised how can airlines act so insane? Grounding a politician cannot protect airline employees from getting attacked in future. I mean… anyone can attack airline employee with slippers.
Airlines should actually ban passengers from wearing slippers or any other footwear inside airports.
In fact, such bans have worked in our country even earlier. I will give an example of one such ban.
When a woman is molested by a goon in the road, the goon is not grounded. But women are stopped from going out. Similarly if a leader beats up an airline staff, leader cannot be grounded. But people should be stopped from wearing footwear in the airport.
I hope my suggestion reaches airline authorities and they ban the slippers to make air travel much safer for airlines employees.
Happy Flying.
